The State is working to enhance the professional skills of teachers and raise teaching standards across the country.
In honor of World Teachers’ Day, celebrated each year on October 5th, a message was shared recognizing the vital role educators play in shaping the nation’s future.
Teachers are honored for their dedication, compassion, and goodwill in guiding students toward educational goals. They not only share knowledge but also help students develop strong character, understand right from wrong, and build essential life skills.
Myanmar has a long-standing tradition of respecting teachers, who are regarded as equal in dignity to great benefactors. Historical figures like Sayadaw Shin Maha Silavamsa and Sayadaw Shin Maharatthasara highlighted the profound gratitude owed to teachers through timeless poetry and advice.
In today’s rapidly changing world, teachers are encouraged to continuously learn and adopt new technologies to keep pace with global standards. The State is supporting this through capacity-building courses focused on innovative teaching methods, digital skills, and library-based learning.
Education remains central to national progress, and the government is prioritizing improvements to the sector under the slogan, “Let us ensure the education sector for the development of the Nation.” Key efforts include increasing school access for all children and improving grade progression rates.
Teachers are urged to nurture students into well-rounded individuals—equipped with knowledge, skills, discipline, and empathy—who can contribute meaningfully to society and national development.
On this World Teachers’ Day, wishes are extended for all educators to enjoy good health, success in their responsibilities, and abundant goodness in all aspects of life.
