A ceremony to mark World Teachers’ Day 2025 was held at Mandalay University yesterday.
The event was attended by Union Minister for Education Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein, the Mandalay Region chief minister, deputy ministers, officials, honourable persons, outstanding teachers, and students.
The ceremony opened with a performance of the song ‘Myat Sayar’ by students from No. 14 Basic Education High School in Mandalay.
Union Minister Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein read a message from Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. Following this, the Rector of the University of Foreign Languages, Yangon, Dr. May San Yi, read messages from the leaders of five United Nations agencies.
The Union minister and her party then presented certificates of appreciation and cash prizes to honourable persons, outstanding teachers, and winners of article, essay, and poem competitions held for the occasion.
