National Unity Government (NUG) Updates
- In Sagaing Region’s Kantbalu Township, resistance forces raided a junta-aligned Pyusawti camp in Ohntaw Village. The operation resulted in the confiscation of seven weapons and the capture of six regime members.
- Also in Sagaing Region, the NUG allocated five confiscated MA1 guns to Local Defence Forces in Khin-U Township in a formal ceremony.
- The NUG’s Central Committee on Interim Public Administration held its 20th meeting of the year with People’s Administration leaders from Mandalay Region.
- At the United Nations, Myanmar’s Permanent Representative U Kyaw Moe Tun urged the international community to deny all support to the military junta and its planned election, emphasizing the need to recognize the suffering of all Myanmar people, including Rohingyas.
On the Ground: Revolution Activities
- An event was held in the United States to encourage international organizations to better amplify the voices of Myanmar’s ethnic minorities and women in the fight against military dictatorship.
- Voter list verification is seeing low turnout at administrative offices in the junta’s headquarters of Naypyitaw, according to reports.
- The UNDP reports that Myanmar’s youth are losing opportunities to realize their dreams due to the country’s ongoing political crisis, economic hardship, and social instability.
- Fighting continues in Taze Township, Sagaing Region, as People’s Defence Forces resist a junta invasion attempt. A local Pyusawti militia leader was reportedly captured alive.
- In Yangon’s South Okkalapa Township, a grenade attack targeted a junta administration office in Ward 10, injuring several regime members and police.
- In Tanintharyi Region’s Longlone Township, revolutionary forces attacked junta troops stationed at the local Administration Department and immigration office.
- The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners states that nearly 400 people, including over 150 women, were killed by the military junta between July and September.
- In Mon State’s Yay Township, the Yay-Balu Force reported killing four junta soldiers and associates at a camp in Aryu Taung Village.
- The group Justice for Myanmar has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 Right Livelihood Award.
- In Magway Region, the Southern YSO PDF intercepted and confiscated a 10-wheeler truck carrying teak intended for the junta’s construction of an airport in Pakkoku.
Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) Report
- A Karen National Union (KNU) military officer reported that junta troops advancing toward Karen State’s Phapun Township include members of the Border Guard Force and the Democratic Karen Buddhist Army.
- The Restoration Council of Shan State issued a condemnation of Shan ethnic youth forming gangs and harming each other in certain Thai cities.
- Junta aerial bombings struck Nammatu and Mantone in northern Shan State on Thursday morning. The Ta’ang National Liberation Army reports three civilians were killed and six others, including children, were injured.
- In Tanintharyi Region, two conscripted soldiers from the junta’s Light Infantry Battalion 280 defected to the Karen National Union’s Brigade 4.
The Military Junta’s Announcements
- The junta’s propaganda team claimed it regained control of the town of Kyaukme and a section of the Kyaukme-Naungcho-PyinOoLwin road on Wednesday afternoon.
- The regime conducted airstrikes on TNLA-held Nammatu and Mantone, areas it has not controlled for over two years. Three displaced persons were reported killed.
- The military administration announced that its conscription drive will continue unimpeded, both before and during the election scheduled for December 28.
- Junta leader Min Aung Hlaing stated that police must not only be professionally competent but also demonstrate good public relations and service conduct.
- The junta’s Foreign Minister met with the Under-Secretary-General of the IFRC for National Society Development and Coordination.
- The regime’s Central Bank announced it will sell 25 million USD to fuel importers on the foreign currency market.
- Marking the 61st Anniversary of Myanmar Police Force Day, Min Aung Hlaing emphasized that coordinated international cooperation is required to combat transnational crimes.
