Temporary Hospital Reopens to Strengthen Kyaukme Health Services

Following counter-terrorism operations that restored peace to the area, a temporary hospital has reopened in Kyaukme Township, Shan State (North), to provide essential medical services to the local community.

The 150-bed Kyaukme General Hospital is currently undergoing renovations after sustaining damage. Healthcare services have been reestablished at a temporary facility located in the Labha Muni Chinese Temple in Ward 2.

A team of seven health workers began providing care on October 3rd. On its most recent day of operation, the temporary hospital treated 55 patients.

The Ministry of Health is working to further strengthen services by setting up a mobile operating theatre for emergency surgeries and ensuring a steady supply of necessary medicines, equipment, doctors, and staff for the region.
