Buddhist Universities of Russia and Myanmar Forge Academic Partnership

A new cooperation agreement has been signed between the Sitagu International Buddhist Academy (SIBA) in Myanmar and the Dashi Choinkhorlin Buddhist University (DCBU) from the Republic of Buryatia in the Russian Federation.

The agreement was formally signed by Rector Dymbryl Gurobazarovich Dashibaldanov of DCBU and Sitagu Sayadaw Dr. Ashin Nyanissara, the founder and principal of SIBA.

This partnership aims to strengthen international collaboration in education, science, and culture. Key goals include implementing joint projects focused on mental, moral, and creative development, as well as sharing resources and expertise between the two institutions.

The framework for cooperation includes appointing a contact person, exchanging information, holding joint meetings and discussions, and participating in mutual development activities.

The agreement follows a visit to Russia by the 89-year-old Sayadaw Dr. Ashin Nyanissara, who was invited by the Governor of the Republic of Kalmykia. During his visit, he delivered a keynote speech on the four Brahamaviharas at the Third International Buddhist Forum on September 28.
