National Unity Government (NUG) Updates

In Taze Township, Sagaing Region, the junta army and a Pyusawhti militia raided Tane Village, setting fire to more than 20 houses. A local defense force also reported an aerial bombing on a school in Kabaunggyaing Village.

The military junta has intensified its attacks on hospitals and clinics. In an interview, the NUG’s Union Minister of Health, Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, stated that underground and safe healthcare facilities are currently under construction to ensure continued medical support.

The Minister also emphasized that ethnic leaders are in agreement: the revolution must now be a collective effort, moving beyond actions by individual groups or localities.

In other developments, the Khin-U Township PDF provided financial support to the families of fallen comrades, and the Taungoo Township PDF completed its basic military training under the NUG’s Ministry of Defence on September 18.

A meeting was held Friday morning between the Sagaing and Magway Federal Unit Hluttaws. Additionally, in Bago Region’s Oatpho Township, revolutionary forces engaged in four separate battles with an invading junta troop of about 150 soldiers between September 30 and October 1.

Revolution Activities

On Saturday morning, a grenade attack targeted the junta’s Mid-Regional Command while junta leader Min Aung Hlaing was present.

A new UNDP report, “A Generation on Hold: Youth Employment and Education in Myanmar,” reveals that nearly one in four young people—approximately 4 million—are now unemployed.

Kim Aris, the son of detained leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, has publicly asked Chinese President Xi Jinping for help in securing his mother’s release.

Public opposition to the junta’s planned election continues. In Kalay Township, a local strike committee held a movement against the vote, while Myanmar citizens in South Korea organized a protest march on Saturday.

In combat news, a Pyusawhti leader was captured alive in a battle in Taze Township. In Mindone Township, Magway Region, a guerrilla attack on two junta vehicles resulted in the deaths of two soldiers, according to the United States of Burma Army.

The Yesagyo Alliance Force also reported it has successfully equipped its members with bullet-proof gear through a fundraising campaign.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

In Chin State, local defense forces report the junta army has conducted three bombings on Mindat over the past two months.

On Saturday afternoon, the junta launched an aerial bombing on Namsam, a town recently seized by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA).

In the Kawthoolei Administration Area under the Karen National Union (KNU), a civilian was killed, three others were injured, and a monastery was damaged in recent attacks in Muu and Sawti Townships.

The Military Council

The junta’s Minister of Home Affairs announced that over 60 people have been detained in the two months since the adoption of the so-called Election Protection Law.

Junta leader Min Aung Hlaing delivered a speech at the Centennial Celebration of Mandalay University. Meanwhile, the junta’s administration in Yangon Region has prohibited setting off fireworks during the upcoming Thadingyut Festival.

The regime continues to seek international partnerships. The junta’s Energy Minister met with a former Qatari Deputy Prime Minister to discuss potential Qatari investment in Myanmar’s onshore and offshore oil and gas exploration. The Minister also admitted the country is dependent on fuel imports due to insufficient local production.

In diplomatic engagements, the junta’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs met with the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus for the second round of bilateral consultations.
